On 13 October 2024, the Amphithéâtre 3000 rocked to the rhythm of urban dance music for the "Can You Rock" dance battle, which brought together dancers and fans.

Combining breathtaking dance performances and moments of sharing and communion, this fantastic day further confirmed the Amphithéâtre 3000 as top-quality venue for large-scale events, thanks to its modular layout capacities.

A cultural and social commitment

Since its creation in 2007, the Karavel festival has become one of the leading events for hip-hop dance in France, and particularly in the Lyon area.
Founded by Mourad Merzouki, the legendary choreographer and figure of hip-hop, the festival's mission is to promote artistic culture through a variety of shows, workshops and meetings across an international network.

Every year, the Karavel Festival places the spotlight on talented dancers and choreographers from all over the world, through a rich and varied programme of events held in different venues across the city over a period of several weeks.

This year marks the 18th anniversary of the festival, which is a real showcase for hip-hop, providing the general public with a great opportunity to discover and share in the rich culture of this unique, demanding and popular art form in the Lyon area.

In 2024, the Karavel Festival held events in nearly 40 venues in the Lyon region, from iconic venues such as the Amphithéâtre 3000 to local theatres and cultural centres, thus building a strong regional dynamic.
The festival plays a key role in raising awareness about hip hop culture and promoting social inclusion through dance, by enabling everyone to see the performances and take part in workshops, often for free or at reduced prices.

Shared values that have real meaning

Lyon events has been a sponsor of the Karavel Festival for several years. This support reflects a shared desire to place the spotlight on emerging and established artists, while promoting access to culture for all. Through this partnership, we share core values, such as the promotion of culture in the region and the inclusion of young people through dance.

Karavel, a festival dedicated to urban dance and hip-hop culture, promotes inclusion, diversity and artistic culture. These principles are perfectly in line with our CSR commitments.

This sponsorship and partnership with Karavel is part of a dynamic initiative driven by a spirit of cultural excellence and passion.
