This year, the Lyon Convention Centre hosted the 10th SIDO, a major event in the field of robotics, connected objects and XR. To mark this anniversary, SIDO also celebrated the organisation of the first Lyon Cyber Expo, with the support of CLUSIR, the French Cybersecurity Federation and the Digital League.

This major trade fair for cybersecurity professionals in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region is a B2B event aimed at SMEs, mid-cap companies and major groups.

The organisation of the SIDO trade fair and the Lyon Cyber Expo in Lyon further consolidates the city's and the region's position as a major player in the field of cybersecurity. This position is already well established, notably thanks to:

A rich and innovative ecosystem

With many specialist start-ups, SMEs and large companies, such as Stormshield, Silcom, Hackuity, CS Group and Naval Group, as well as general IT-service companies such as Hardis Group and Cegid.

Extensive expertise in industrial cybersecurity:

As the heartbeat of France's leading industrial region, Lyon is strategically located at the centre of a hub of expertise in terms of Industry 4.0. With the cities of Oyonnax (plastics), Grenoble (electronics and energy), Clermont-Ferrand (materials) and Saint-Étienne (metallurgy and mechanics) less than two hours away, Lyon is at the heart of a unique region focused on industrial innovation, responding to the growing need for industrial cybersecurity.

High-quality training:

INSA Lyon, Claude Bernard University and École Centrale de Lyon provide specialist courses in cybersecurity. Lyon is also at the cutting-edge of research through the CITI Laboratory and the Centrale Digital Lab, enabling innovative solutions to be developed in partnership with industry.

A long-term strategic vision:

Launched by the Lyon Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the EUROPEAN GLOBAL SECURITY CAMPUS project aims to develop a centre of excellence in training research and innovation to address every aspect of security, both public and private.

Thanks to an ecosystem that is conducive to innovation, Lyon is establishing itself as a host city for major events linked to digital transformation and cybersecurity. This year, SIDO, a leading event in the fields of robotics, connected objects and XR, celebrated its 10th anniversary. To mark this occasion, the first LYON CYBER EXPO was organised, with the support of CLUSIR, the French Cybersecurity Federation and the Digital League.

SIDO Lyon and LYON CYBER EXPO took place on 18 and 19 September 2024 at the Lyon Convention Centre, turning the city into the capital of IT for two days of innovation and professional meetings.
